We have some news!!

I'm pregnant!!  After 2 years, I am so excited to say Baby Nash is finally on his/her way!

I found out on Tuesday, June 15th.  I was hoping to hold out until Wednesday morning, but I just couldn't wait.  I took the test, and ran to the bedroom with Judd in charge of waiting for the results.  I wanted him to deliver the news, whatever it might be.  He soon came from the bathroom and said, "Well, there's definitely a second line, but it's not as dark as the other line."  Anyone in the world of trying to conceive knows, a line is line!  Luckily, they've gotten darker and darker since.  Now the "pregnant" line is twice a dark as the control line.

Here is our proof!

I had my first round of bloodwork that Friday, 6/18.  My hcg levels came back at 195, so very pregnant!  I had another test done on Monday, 6/21 and my levels were 632.  The goal is for the numbers to double every 48-72 hours.  My rate was doubling every 42 hours!  My last round of bloodwork is this Friday, 6/25 and our first ultrasound will be the week of our 4th wedding anniversary!

Needless to say, we're beyond thrilled!  We've told a few close friends and most of the family.  We are going to Pawley's Island with my family, and we plan to share the news with them then.  I can't wait!

I'm keeping the blog completely private until we hear the heartbeat at our ultrasound, and then hope to share with the world everything that is happening in the Nash household!

Here is the baby at 5 weeks, which is where I am now:

Baby's now the size of an appleseed!

Your embryo, which doesn't look like much more than a tadpole right now, is actually starting to form major organs (heart, kidney, liver, stomach) and systems (nervous, circulatory, digestive). Baby's presence in your uterus triggers production of HCG (the hormone detected by pregnancy tests), which triggers the production of other hormones like estrogen and progesterone, which triggers all those great symptoms you've probably been noticing!
